Koh Chang!

So Koh Chang gave me the chance to fully experience the live of a backpacker, by travelling a huge amount of time via bus and boat. Needless to say this was not the most enjoyable of times especially when you have annoying bus neighbours who insist on us all listening to their shit music played from their IPhones and enjoying it. And if that wasnt enough we were treated to her renditions of what I can only describe as German ballads...agreed German is not the most beautiful of languages so this was horrific.

ANYWAYS!!!

So Koh Chang! our first glimpse of paradise and for the first time on the journey a gasp and the word "WOW" exhaled from my mouth. Why couldnt Bangkok be more like this ? White sandy beaches a calm sea and a wicked jungle back drop and CHANG! which for some reason tasted immense whilst drinking it IN Chang ..(Small things ammuse small minds) anyways we ended making friends with a fella and two women on the most awesome of taxi rides (Think riding a rollercoaster on the back of a pick up truck with no seatbelts and no walls) again like I said AWESOME! Enough of me going off topic, the fella from the taxi was a DJ and had just been doing the Full Moon Party and he advised us that Sea Flower was one of the best for cheap on the island. Seeing as he knew the area and the locals quite well we decided to give it a whirl...Let me tell you the guy knows his stuff. By far the nicest bungalow that we could have gotten and it was a steal at only 300 Baht (around 3pound each).
Only drawback to this place is that it wasnt on the beach but then this gave us the chance to go all Bear Grills on Thailands ass. The jungle walk was rugged and untamed apart from a troden down path that lead to a bridge and then onwards to the beach. This walk was tamed by us both in the day and at night with the help of our trusty torch (Thanks Karen) although I would not advise anyone to do it at night as 1/ its bloody scary 2/ your literally walking around in pitch black in the jungle and at that point literally at the bottom of the pissing food chain.
The main reason we went to Chang was to see some Changs...Elephants that means by the way. This was an eye opener as we arrived at Ban Chang Thai my heart literally melted a little bit as these animals are just stunning. We got to ride and swim with our elephant (which we named Eliie) which im not gonna lie to you was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The whole way through the jungle trek all I kept thinking was "Is this real? am I really riding an Elephant?" YES! YES I WAS!
Highlight of the trip so far and its gonna take some beating, along with Jade ordering barbequed fish and ending up with literally something they had just caught in the ocean cooked for a little bit and slapped it on her plate (Head/Eyes/Brains and Bones included) not like a good ol battered cod from back home ill tell you that. Trip all rounded off with a fire show on the beach and a couple of large Changs, Koh Tao here we come!

Almost forgot the Thai massage....no not that kind, I shall describe it to you in two words, Uncomfotably Comfortable. The kind of feeling that is not painful but uncomfortable and you withstand it as the results will leave you feeling like a bowl of jelly. Only problem being that I am not the smallest and lightest of all people so my masseuse was unable to lift me at the end to crack my back..... note to self, next time find a more butch masseuse.
