Phi Phi Part 2!

So its been about three days since I last updated this journal and a lot has changed, we moved on from Uphill Cottage to Viking Nature Resort which we found after a long walk down the various beaches and jungles. Now before we left on this trip Jade had the idea that perfection would be 1. Bamboo Bungalow 2. In the jungle 3. Beach front 4. HAMMOCK!
Viking delivered in a massive way as it ticked all the above boxes and seeing as we only booked it for three days, one day in and we have already booked it for another three days after. So our home for the rest of the trip in Phi Phi is right here.
Jade after the first two days was in heaven and it seemed like it was all going to be perfect for the rest of the week.....but we arrived back from dinner to discove another attack from the cockroaches. Of all places who would have thought they would be in the jungle.......apparently not Jade.

Yet again more heroics from me and my roach kill count is now up to five.

The past few days have consisted mainly of lounging about on the beach/ in a hammock on the beach/ on a swing on the beach or in my case just bobbling around in the ocean all day. During this journey it was one of my missions to start eating different foods and luckily for us Viking do a taster night every night in which you can try the local cuisine, discovering that i like curry and really spicy food (Still not a huge lover of Thai noodles although all the rice dishes are banging) One perk of Phi Phi is that it seems they are under the illusion that all tourists want to eat is pizza and pasta, hell dont get me wrong the slices here are MASSIVE and amazing. They are that good that even Jade likes the pizza here.....FACT.

Whilst in Phi Phi we took a day trip which included various activities, the first of which was a simple 8 meter rock climb. Sounds simple I know but these rocks were pretty much verticle and for the newbies to climbing like myself it was a little daunting. But at the same time I absolutely loved it and it has now replaced diving as my new hobbie to learn. This climb was nothing more than a stepping stone to the next activity which was a cliff dive into the ocean, as a man with no love for heights this was either going to make me or break me. Standing on the edge of the cliff looking out on the ocean all I said to myself was dont think just jump..... 3....2....1

BEST ADRENALINE RUSH EVER! it made me feel alive and it was that good that I climbed back up and did it a second time....and yep it was still as amazing! After the boat carried us a little further we saw some monkeys....pretty average although they were some angry looking little mother truckers. Following this was a swim in a lagoon which was absolute paradise and about the most perfect clear blue water I have ever seen, and then off for a snorkel. Now for those who read that in earlier blogs that I would like to take up diving will laugh at the fact that I was shit at snorkeling haha. Lets just say ill need a lot of practice to be as good as the people from 'Ban's'

Then we arrived at 'The Beach' the same one that Leonardo DiCaprio stood on and its clear to see why they chose to use Maya Bay. The surroundings are just so tranquil and pure that you lose yourself in the sounds of the ocean and wildlife around you and everything thats in your minds just drifts away. PURE BLISS. Off the beach we trundled through the caves that were literally 1.5 feet by 5.6 foot hilarious considering that the rocks were slippery and covered with crabs so all you could hear were splashes followed by embarresed laughter or squeals from people who had just seen a crab. After braving all of this we climbed back aboard our boat (not the most glamourous of climbs I will say) and off to watch the sunset on a private beach party.
Beer, BBQ, Fire Shows and glowing plankton it was a wicked and perfect way to end our time in Phi Phi. Only one more day now till we head back to Bangkok, but thats not the end OH NO as were off to Sydney then WOOOOO
So tomorrow its time to soak up paradise for one last day before the hustle bustle and "Hi friend you want to buy an Armani suit?" every ten seconds.

See you in Oz
